Club Ride Leaders

There are up to four different roles for Ride Leaders on a ride:  Ride Organizer, Lead, Corner, and Sweep.  The Ride Organizer is the person responsible for the entire ride.  They assign the three main roles to any trained ride leaders who attend (including themselves).  They also greet guests, conduct the pre-ride announcement and safety review, and handle post-ride matters.  The Leader rides in front and must be familiar with the route.  They are responsible for stopping at regrouping points, insuring that a Corner person is at all stops and turns, and setting the proper pace.  The Corner stays at stops or turns to insure that riders proceed through the intersection safely and legally.  The Sweep brings up the rear, makes sure no one is dropped, helps with repairs, and observes riders in front of him for safety issues.

If there are not enough trained Ride Leaders, the Ride Organizer can select other members to serve in these roles.  However, there must be at least one trained Ride Leaders for each group (A and B groups).
